We had packed all of our toys and clothes and stuff the night before and we were ready to go! Our flight left at around noon and arrived in Ft Lauderdale at around four in the afternoon. On our quick drive to the airport I talked to Maria about the most recent chats and messages. I was already a little worried that time would be tight. There was a Meet and Greet at the bar in the hotel we were staying at for the Bliss Cruise that started at 5:30. So we were going to jump right into it. I had also been texting a bunch of people still in the KiK group that had been set up. There were a few couples that said they would like to meet us at the Meet and Greet.
One couple, in particular, I was looking forward to meeting. Todd and Diana were from Montana. He was a doctor and she was a teacher. We had really clicked while messaging each other. It seemed like we would really get along. I had even talked to them about perhaps having some fun together after the Meet and Greet if it all went well? They said that they would be totally up for that.
So by the time we got on the plane Maria and I were already nervous and excited! But we also agreed that we would try to just go with the flow and have no expectations. But we would at least check out the Meet and Greet and see what it was like, and hopefully meet some of the people I had been chatting with for so long.
We landed at around 4. Then things went quick. Ft Lauderdale is a small airport compared to O'Hare. We got our luggage and called the hotel. A free ride to the hotel was part of our package. They said they would be there in 10 minutes. We were in our room by 4:30. I had said that I would text Todd and Diana when we got into town and let them know we were there. They were staying in the same hotel as us and were also planning on going to the Meet and Greet.
The van from the hotel dropped us off and we went in to register. Right behind us another couple showed up. He was older and dapper. She looked like a "hot wife" about our age and was dressed in a super short club style dress that showed off her long legs. She looked super hot. I was pretty sure that they were going on the same cruise that we were going on. They also looked totally out of our "league". I was already starting to feel a little intimidated.
While Maria was checking in with the desk clerk I looked behind me and noticed that Bliss Cruise had a table set up in the lobby with some folks there to welcome people and answer questions. They all pretty much looked like "normal" swingers to me. A mix of ages and types. I relaxed a bit. We could deal with this!
We checked in and went to our room. I sent Todd and Diana a message and they said they would meet us downstairs at around 5:30. There were a couple of other couples that we had been chatting with that said they would be there as well. So we had about an hour to chill. It was nice!
I turned on the TV and watched a little March Madness. Soon enough it was 5:30. We went downstairs and found the Bliss Cruise table and asked them where the Meet and Greet was. They were really nice about it and welcomed us and told us they hoped we had fun on the cruise! The Meet and Greet was right down the hall at the bar and if we were staying at the hotel we could each get a free drink. Perfect!
We walked into the bar area and there were already about 20 or 30 couples there. Most of the ladies seemed skinny and hot and wearing the same sort of super short club wear that I had seen on the lady when we checked in. We felt a little out of place. Then I looked around and realized that just like at a swingers club there were all types. 20s to 70s. Skinny to more curvy. All types. But a lot of them dressed sexy. Maria was in a tight long dress that showed off all of her curves. I was in my typical shorts and sandals and a shirt with a collar. I thought to myself. We've always been a little different than the typical swinger couple.
I noticed when we got in the room that right to our left were a couple that I had written to on SLS. They were "distinctive". I thought they looked hot. A hipster couple that I thought we would get along with well. But they never wrote back to us. Bummer. When I saw them in person I thought they looked like they might be a good match for us. About our age. She was curvy like Maria. He was tall and skinny like me. I thought they looked a lot like us. Granted, she had dreadlocks so perhaps they were a little more "out there" than us? But how many alternafreaks were going to be on the cruise anyway? I figured if they wanted to talk to us after seeing us they could. They never said a word. We passed by them a few times on the cruise and they never said a word ever to us. Whatever. Who knows? Maybe I look too much like her old boyfriend? You just never know the reasons why people aren't interested in you for one reason or another. You just move on. There were going to be thousands of other couples on this cruise!!
It was also hard to not notice the Dom lady. She was over six feet tall and I had to look up to her. Rare for this tall guy. She had long straight dyed red hair down to her waist, was super skinny, and had massive fake boobs. In front of her was this super cute lady who looked like she was still her 20s. She was tall and thin also. She was wearing a tight T shirt, hot pants, and bright red sneakers. Tattoos up and down her legs and blue hair. Just my type! I tried not to stare and drool too much and we moved through the crowd. We both order drinks and moved to the back of the room. I looked around for Todd and Diana but didn't see them.
We went to the back of the room, took a deep breath, and looked around the scene. About a minute later Todd and Diana entered the room. They spotted us and smiled and walked across the room and said hello. They looked exactly like their pix. We chatted for a bit and decided to move out to the patio area where there were some tables set up. We sat down and started to chat and it seemed like there was an instant connection in person as well. It was almost like we were old friends meeting up again. It was really nice and comfortable. I really think being able to chat and message each other beforehand really helped.
After a few minutes we looked about and recognized Jean and Bob. Jean had been really active in the Kik group and had posted a pic a few days beforehand of her new haircut. We all thought she looked a lot like Donna from the 70's Show. So as soon as Todd and I saw her we knew who she was. They joined us and now it was the six of us. We looked over at one point and the red headed Dom was now leading the blue haired girl around by a leash. A photographer was taking pix of them in interesting poses by the side of the pool and by the palm trees. At one point the girl with the blue hair did this thing where she leaned against a rail and did some full out splits. It was hot! I noticed that there were "vanilla" people in the pool. Kids and Moms. In fact we soon saw a Mom and her son storming out of the pool, through the bar area, and back to the lobby. She looked pissed. I was wondering if she was going to complain to the manager about the freaks around the pool!
After a few more minutes of chat Barb and Dan showed up. It was easy to recognize Barb from her curly red hair. She looked even more attractive in person. A really nice couple. We talked a little more and the topic of dinner came up. Yes, we must eat as well as fuck. We were both really hungry as well. There were a few options that were within walking distance of the hotel and it was decided that we should try the Italian place. We all walked over there together. It looked like it was the beginning of a great adventure!
We had about a 15 minute wait before a table was ready but that was fine because we were happy to chat and get to know each other a bit better.
(This is the part of the blog where we get real. We don't gloss over the facts or what actually happened. Believe me. It gets better! lol)
We sat down at the table and started to chat. There was laughter all around. Maria turned to me and said, "I'm really starting to feel like I'm getting a migraine. I should have taken my medicine before we left." I looked at the menu and realized that although I had felt really hungry just a few minutes ago, the "nerves" were starting to hit me and I had no appetite at all. I ordered the soup and salad combo and hoped for the best.
Our food came and I tried to eat but all of a sudden I had no appetite. I just picked at my food and barely ate anything. We finished dinner and we all walked back to the hotel. Barb and Dan were going off to a different Meet and Greet that was starting later. Jean and Bob were going to go back to their hotel. So Todd and Diana went to the elevators together. We got off on their floor so we could say goodnight. I really wanted to play with them but Maria was starting to get a full blown Migraine and I was still feeling a little off from the nerves. We decided to call it a night and go to bed and go to our respective rooms. We made a point to meet on the boat the next day.
Maria and I went back to our room and she took her meds. We chilled out and watched a WW2 movie on HBO. The thing with Brad Pitt playing a tank commander. Once Maria's meds kicked in we went to bed and fucked and went to sleep. We wanted to get some good sleep so we could be ready for the cruise the next day. It was really happening and we had already met some really great people!

Cruise update - KiK chat group
Gotta say I've been really enjoying the KiK chat group for the swinger cruise. There are a fair amount of us who are pretty active in there. I'm one of them. Just today I had some great chats and learned a few things.
For this cruise the pool will be for swimming only. No sex in the pool! Hygiene issues. Makes sense to us.
I learned that the Meet and Greet at our hotel is free and since we're staying at the hotel we get free drinks. There should be about 150 people there. We already have plans to meet at least one if not two couples there. So right away the fun should begin! wow....
There won't be a "chocolate" theme room this time. But there will be a BDSM one. There will be some fun supplies in the BDSM room like some benches and, what I was thrilled to hear about, a St. Andrews Cross. One of my big fantasies has always been to strap Maria into one of those and play with her. Perhaps invite a couple over to help? ;-)
I also got a really weird message from this older kind of creepy guy. He wanted to know if we wanted to meet on board on the down low. Because he was going on the cruise with his entire family. His grandkids were going to get married in Cozumel. I wrote him back and asked if everyone in his family were swingers? He wrote back and said that only he was into the lifestyle. That everyone else was vanilla but were going on the cruise anyway. So did we want to meet him?
First of all.. wtf. We thought this was a ship takeover. That everyone on board were swingers. My BS detector was going off the charts. Secondly. Really? You're a vanilla couple and you're going to go on a swingers cruise when you're getting married? Really? I can't imagine anything more awkward for a couple in that situation. No. Calling your bluff mother fucker.
I wrote a message on the group message board and the concensus right away was that the guy was full of shit. Another couple wrote to me to say that he had written to them as well. Should I write to the folks in charge of the cruise? Think I'm just going to block his profile and leave it at that.
Meanwhile the excitement is building. Every day we get closer. At dinner tonight we said to our kids, "In one week we should be on the ship in the dining room having a fancy meal on our first night on the ship." We didn't mention that hopefully later that night we would be in one of the playrooms! lol

Cruise Update - one week to go!
I'm trying not to completely obsess about the cruise! But I admit that I feel like I think about it ALL THE TIME! lol
The buildup has been a lot of fun for Maria and I as well. Part of the fun has been the shopping! It seems like a new box from Amazon has been arriving almost every day for the last two weeks. New pants and shirts for me. New dresses, lingerie, and thongs for Maria. Toys, lube, and a 50 pack of condoms!
There is also now a very active group message board on SLS. One of the pieces of advice we read was to plan things in advance. Make dates. Because one you're on board there are so many people there, and no cell and internet, it can be hard to make plans at that point. So we took matters into our own hands. I noticed that several couples had put up what their fantasy was on the message board. Our fantasy? To have an orgy with a bunch of couples in the group area under the stars.
We put up a message and soon enough started to get responses. A couple of weeks later and we're up to 14 couples who have said they would like to join us. OMG. We're assuming we'll meet more couples during the meet and greets and on board. We also assume there will be a bit of a viral thing going on. Wow... So next Tuesday night we hopefully will be in the middle of an huge orgy! One of our all time fantasies.
One of the things we still think about however is the fact that this could be a total disaster. We could be both barfing the entire time with sea sickness. We bought patches and another med that we can put under our tongues. Our fingers are crossed! We've also read that the big boats with their stabilizers and all are no problem.

We've been asking questions, chatting, and teasing each other for a week or so now. Couples have been posting pix and we've set up some private chats as well. The internet is so awesome sometimes! We're only going to be on the boat for 5 days!

Oh... we also found out that it looks like there's a Meet and Greet at the hotel we're staying at the night before the cruise. We weren't expecting that. I've also been talking to one couple in particular who seem to have a lot of mutual "interests". They're staying at the same hotel as us and are planning on going to the Meet and Greet. So it looks like things might very well begin almost as soon as we get down there. Fly down. Get to the hotel and check in. Go to the Meet and Greet and let the fun begin!
