Cruise update - One Month To Go!!!

The swinger cruise is only a month away! Wow!!!

We've talked to a bunch of people and read message boards and learned more about what to expect. It sounds amazing! It should be very interesting at the very least...

I was saying to Maria the other night. At first I was really excited about the sex part of it all. Then I started to learn more about the cruise part of it all. Then I got excited about that. Any sex would be the icing on the cake. Then as it's gotten closer I've started to get excited about both! lol

We went online tonight and sat down and booked one of our "excursions". At each of the ports the swinger travel agency has set up special "swinger" excursions for the party people on the boat. At Cozumel they've booked a water park. So we could spend the day hanging out naked at the water park with a bunch of other swingers. At Progresso they've set up something that sounds a little more interesting. A day at a Hacienda that was built in the 1500's. With a DJ and naked dancing and playrooms.

Because we're "introverted" swingers we're going to go a different route. At the Progresso port we were planning taking the excursion to Chichen Itza. But Uxmal was another choice. We did some research online and it looks like Uxmal would be much more up our alley. It's supposed to be more "beautiful" and interesting. A little more compact and much less crowded. There is a pyramid there as well it's just not quite as tall. It also looks like they still let you climb up it unlike Chichen Itza. It's also a little closer to the ship so it will take less time to get there and back. We booked it tonight. $158 for the two of us. I think it will be something we'll remember for the rest of our lives.

At Cozumel we found a really great store that people seem to love. They sell Day of the Dead stuff and fresh vanilla and Mexican pottery. We think we're going to just do our own thing and take a cab to the store and then walk back to the ship. A chill day walking around the coast of the island.

Researching the whole cruise thing has been fascinating for us. The main thing in a funny way is, "how does it work? How do we meet people? How do we hook up?" The biggest factor in this equation is that if you're in a boat in the middle of the ocean your cell phones won't necessarily be working. You can't depend on going to SLS or the web or Messaging or KiK or all the things that we do. You can purchase a wireless plan for about $120/device. That means for each computer and/or cell phone. We think we'll do one device. So our access will be limited. Access will be limited for everyone. We're still not sure how it will all work.

So what do people do? Well, it turns out that the doors and walls of the ship are made out of steel. So people hang white boards on their doors! So people write messages to each other about trying to meet at certain times and places. If you know someone's cabin number you can pick up the phone in your cabin and call them. (So old fashioned!) If they're not there you can leave a VM. People print our business cards with their cabin number on them beforehand to hand out to people that they like. It all seems so old school!

But then each day there are also social meetings. There is a schedule for all the events on the ship every day. Meet and greets. Classes and seminars on swinger topics. So we assume we'll meet people that way? There are also the theme rooms each day that are supposed to start in the afternoons. These are something we're really looking forward to! Each day there will be rooms/suites set up with different themes. BDSM. All Girl. Orgy. Bi. BBC. It sort of reminds me of DisneyLand! What theme land do we want to visit?! Orgy Land, All Girl Land, or Bi Land?!! We assume we'll meet people there as well? Then there is the 24/7 orgy deck on the top of the boat. We can't wait to check that out. Don't think we'll be hitting that during the day so much but it sounds like it would be awesome at night. An orgy under the stars. Although we're also heard that it can get a little chilly at night? So we'll see...

We've also been writing messages back and forth with other couples who are going on the cruise. It looks like we've got a couple of fantastic prospects lined up already. Couples that we're really looking forward to meeting. We're kind of wondering if we should try to nail them down a little more? The cruise is only five days. Make "dates" for each evening? We almost already could do that from what I can tell. We've already started to talk to more than five couples. One of the things I want to do is really sit down with Maria and look at everyone again. It sounds sort of weird to say this but "rank" them in terms of who we're the most interested in. What we've learned of course over the years is that you never know what people are going to be like in real life so we'll have to see how it goes once we meet some of these people.

One of the other things we've learned, and this was a little surprising at first, but I guess shouldn't have come as a huge surprise is, there are all sort of types/levels of swingers who will be going. For us this seems as sort of a "varsity level" swinger type of event. Perhaps it's because we've been doing this for 20 years and never done anything like this? So when we first signed up I assumed that everyone else signing up would be experienced full swap swingers. What we've learned is that there will be all types. There will be a lot of just naturalists/nudists who aren't interested in swinging at all. There will be the newbies. There will be the soft swingers. It does seem like there will be a lot of full swap experienced swingers as well. We wish there was a way that you could easily tell people apart like wrist bands or something! It seems like basically we'll have to use our words.

One of the other things we've read about is the whole sea sickness thing. We're both a little worried about that. Maria more than me. We've talked about how there is that small possibility that we'll both get sick and spend the whole trip barfing. It could happen! We've accepted that possibility and if it happens we'll know that the cruise thing just isn't for us. That's one of the reasons we went with a shorter 5 day cruise for our first time.

The main thing is that it's now a month away! We have something planned for next weekend that I won't say another word about because I'm afraid of the bragging curse. Then we're planning on shutting it down for that three weeks or so. Not do any swinging stuff with other people. Just think about the cruise. Build up the anticipation.......
